The new track from electro-indie artist Perry Blake is the incredible ‘Death Of A Society Girl’. It’s an atmospheric, ambient track that blends gentle synth work with beautifully textured, swirling electronics. Distant, industrial drums weave their way through the texture, setting themselves against smooth, groovy bass. Front and centre, however, is his sleek, effortless vocal, drenched in reverb and evoking melancholy and nostalgia. The accompanying music video stars Paul McGann, a British actor known for his work in Withnail & I and Doctor Who. This is his first release since 2020, and it might just be his best track yet.
